Nuru interrupted Ami and Salvatore in their talk. "Salvatore, I want to be the pride second." Ami raised an eyebrow at her cub. He was rather young to even think of becoming Pride Second, she had thought Junidor that other male lion who hung around would.

Salvatore stopped his greeting with Ami, and twisted to Nuru. "Fine, then." He grunted. "All lions of the Savannah Pride, please enter the water hole for a spar between the King and Nuru for the Pride Second ranking," he yipped. Salvatore watched the teen with his watchful gaze, his smile faded. He'd never liked the way the pride rules were found, seeing how his father was the king before him, and was more ambitious than anything and created more violent rules. Sparring for the Pride Second was among them.

Kiara and the other lionesses had return from their hunt with nothing more than a few bits of left over zebra. Kiara noticed the group and quickly ran over to see what was happening.
