Ebony looked over at Holly. "You can hunt? Not many stray dogs are able to hunt. Where did you learn?" She sniffed at her with curiosity.

"I learned as a pup, I decided to be a lone dog when I was separated from my birth mother." Holly started to lick her paw again.

Ebony looked back at the rain and realized it was starting to lessen. "We can go out now. It's barely raining, but we should have a place to go to for cover if it starts up again."

Ebony trotted out from the shelter into the misty afternoon. "Follow me. I'll teach you how to look cute in front of humans." She sniffed at the scents as she walked and her ears were up in alert, but Ebony seemed to be in a much better mood now that there was food just around the corner.

Holly followed, slightly limping. Her paws were muddy and she felt miserable from her wet fur and cold skin.

Ebony finally arrived at the trailer park. "There should be food in the trash cans. Just don't get caught by humans." She tipped over a trashcan and started sniffing around in it finding a half eaten hotdog and a half bag full of potato chips.

Holly walked over to the tipped trash can, and saw a bright pink package. She smelled it, and it's sweetness was overwhelming. Holly ripped open the package, and started chewing on a cupcake. It was the best thing she had ever tasted in her life.
